Conques

The Saint Foy abbey-church in Conques was a popular stop for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.

It's construction was completed around the year 1120, it was built in Romanesque fashion, of course.

The main draw for pilgrims was the skeleton of Saint Foy, a martyred young woman from the 4th century. A monk from Conques stole this body from a nearby monestary in order to draw travelers (and wealth) to Conques.
