A
computer game expansion pack is a software package which expands, augments or enhances the original
game. The original game is usually required in order to use expansion packs. Sometimes expansion packs may contain nothing more than new game maps or scenarios or they may contain a great deal of new artwork or new features to the game.
An example of an expansion pack is The Sims Livin Large[?]. This expansion adds new objects, characters and features to the game. The original game, The Sims, is required for this expansion to install and operate.
