Club des Hashischins (sometimes also spelt
Club des Hashishins), was a
Parisian society dedicated to the use and exploration of drug-induced experience, notably with
hashish. Its founders were
Theophile Gautier,
Arthur Rimbaud,
Charles Baudelaire and Dr
Jacques-Joseph Moreau[?]. Other members included
Eugene Delacroix,
Gérard de Nerval, and
Alexandre Dumas.
