Clinton County is a
county located in the
U.S. State of
Pennsylvania. As of
2000, the population is 37,914. Its name is in honor of the seventh
Governor of New York State,
DeWitt Clinton. Its
county seat is
Lock Haven6.

U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,326

mi²). 2,307 km² (891 mi²) of it is land and 19 km² (7 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.81% water.
As of the
census of
2000, there are 37,914 people, 14,773 households, and 9,927 families residing in the county. The
population density is 16/km² (43/mi²). There are 18,166 housing units at an average density of 8/km² (20/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 98.29% White, 0.52%
African American, 0.11%
Native American, 0.40%
Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.15% from other races, and 0.52% from two or more races. 0.54% of the population are
