Clinton is a town located in Vernon County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,354.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 93.0 km² (35.9 mi²). 92.9 km² (35.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.03% is water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 1,354 people, 313 households, and 271 families residing in the town. The population density is 14.6/km² (37.7/mi²). There are 351 housing units at an average density of 3.8/km² (9.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.89% White, 0.00% African American, 0.15% Native American, 0.30% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.30% from other races, and 0.37% from two or more races. 1.26% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 313 households out of which 53.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 77.3% are married couples living together, 4.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 13.1% are non-families. 11.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
