Centerville is a city located in Davis County, Utah. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 14,585.

Geography

Centerville is located at 40°55'37" North, 111°52'48" West (40.926824, -111.880086)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 15.6 km² (6.0 mi²). 15.6 km² (6.0 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 14,585 people, 4,138 households, and 3,546 families residing in the city. The population density is 932.3/km² (2,415.8/mi²). There are 4,280 housing units at an average density of 273.6/km² (708.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 97.06% White, 0.23% African American, 0.16% Native American, 0.75% Asian, 0.23% Pacific Islander, 0.60% from other races, and 0.97% from two or more races. 1.95% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 4,138 households out of which 51.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 76.1% are married couples living together, 7.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 14.3% are non-families. 12.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.52 and the average family size is 3.88.

In the city the population is spread out with 35.9% under the age of 18, 11.5% from 18 to 24, 25.2% from 25 to 44, 20.4% from 45 to 64, and 7.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 27 years. For every 100 females there are 99.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 94.6 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $64,818, and the median income for a family is $70,855. Males have a median income of $50,033 versus $26,527 for females. The per capita income for the city is $19,666. 2.0% of the population and 1.4% of families are below the poverty line.
