Bush School

Bush School is a private K-12 school located in the Washington Park neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. Founded in 1924 by Helen Taylor Bush in her home on Dorffel Drive East, the school moved to its present location at the corner of Lake Washington Boulevard East and East Harrison Street in 1930. This land had previously been occupied by Lakeside School, which moved to the north end of the city.

Helen Bush-Parkside, as it came to be known, was coeducational through 8th grade. 9th through 12th grades were girl-only. In 1970, the Upper School finally began accepting boys, and changed its name to the Bush School.

Notable alumni include Meg Greenfield[?], Dave Dederer, Chris Ballew, and the members of the rock band best known as Sweet Water, a.k.a. S.G.M. and the Parc Boys.
