Brunswick is a city located in Medina County, Ohio. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 33,388.

Geography

Brunswick is located at 41°14'39" North, 81°49'42" West (41.244051, -81.828360)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 32.6 km² (12.6 mi²). 32.5 km² (12.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.32% water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 33,388 people, 11,883 households, and 9,280 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,028.0/km² (2,662.3/mi²). There are 12,251 housing units at an average density of 377.2/km² (976.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 97.09% White, 0.74% African American, 0.13% Native American, 0.86% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.38% from other races, and 0.78% from two or more races. 1.36% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 11,883 households out of which 39.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.3% are married couples living together, 9.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 21.9% are non-families. 17.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.79 and the average family size is 3.18.

In the city the population is spread out with 27.7% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 32.7% from 25 to 44, 23.2% from 45 to 64, and 8.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 96.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 94.4 males.
