Arthritis (from Latin for "joint swelling") is a group of conditions that affect the health of the
bone joints in the body. The two primary
diseases causing arthritis are
rheumatoid arthritis, an
autoimmune disease, and the more common
osteoarthritis[?].
Septic arthritis[?], caused by an infection of the joint, and gout are also common causes of arthritis.
