Some resources which would be valuable and need volunteers to
implement:

- an archive available by ftp containing all the UU groups
- a mailing list echo or mailing list echos for either just
  alt.uu.announce or both alt.uu.announce and alt.uu.future

You can either contact me or volunteer in alt.uu.future.

Food for thought, FAQ material, ideas which pop into mind, possible
divisions for the admin groups of UU - these kinds of things need to
be decided / documented. Some ideas for answers are presented to get
started but not meant to be authoritative - everything is open for
discussion.

- What UU is
  - a short summary, see the article posted
- "Constitution"
  - why UU has been created, what is the purpose
  - how is UU governed
  - how new topics/disciplines are created
  - how new discussion groups/hierarchies are created
  - how are the rules changed
  - will documents published via UU be required to be freely
distributable among UU participants and/or to anyone
  - are there people responsible for groups/topics as
moderators, are there people with special positions in UU
  - openness, actions and decisions public, etc.
- Goals: short-range, long-range
- Plans - what is being done / will be done to achieve the goals
  - short-range plans
  - long-range plans
- Who is UU for
  - anyone who can access and is interested in learning, since it's open
  - having Usenet access is a plus, Internet access more so
- What can you study in UU
- What is needed to participate in UU
  - technology: text-only, graphics, sound
  - connections to Usenet/Internet/phonenet(modems)
  - getting a newsfeed/getting alt.uu.*
  - access to a book library/internet?
  - freenets, possible public libraries with terminal rooms,
    public access systems
- Who are participating in UU
  - everyone ;-)
  - volunteers: students, tutors, ..
  - lots of material comes from Usenet / Internet in general
- Can one graduate from UU (get a certificate accepted elsewhere)
  - currently no, for a while probably no official
  - perhaps you can do learning in UU, then go to another U for
    exams
  - it is possible UU will later cooperate with another university
- Ways of learning in UU - how does it differ from other U's?
  - finding tutors/students
  - self-study by references/reading lists from UU
  - seminars
  - self-study by tutorials / programmed learning exercises
    prepared by someone else
  - exercises
  - writing papers
  - learning by doing / experimenting
- Discipline divisions in UU
- Libraries of UU - how to find information and where
  - tools for searching information
  - when you do research on the topic, contribute to the rest of
    the UU community
- tools to help participating in UU
  - tools to create tutorials
  - tools for computer-supported collaboration in the UU community
  - tools for peer-reviewed publications
  - tools for retrieving, classigying and handling information from UU
  - tools for organizing material for presentation to UU students
- Netiquette of UU
- Legalities of UU: copyright, possible legal limits on topics,
  responsibilities

Other documents
