FUNET - The Finnish University and Research Network

The service includes an access to the high-performance backbone network with outstanding connections to the rest of the Internet both inside the country and internationally.

FUNET's network technology group staff helps member organisations to install and maintain network connections and operate routers, switches and other building boxes of the backbone.

The network information services group provides network information services like mail delivery, newsfeed, file servers and chat relay. Furthermore, many new services are under evaluation or to be developed. These include multimedia tools, videoconferensing, directory services, search engine for information hunting and various databases.
