Georgian Airways, formerly Airzena, was established in 1993. Initially it was a charter flight operator but in 1999 Airzena became the flag carrier of Georgia. In August 2004, the company changed its name to Georgian Airways.
4L-TGC is a Boeing B737-800 which was delivered as new in January 2007 to the UK company XL Airways. It then worked between December 2008 and June 2019 as a charter flight plane for Anadolu Jet and SunExpress of Turkey and moved on to Georgian Airways in June 2019. It is a leased machine.
