From Guatemala to Yemen, Hesperian reaches millions

December 3, 2015

Dear Friends,

A community health worker in war-torn Yemen, grandparents of HIV positive children in South Africa, members of an earthquake-devastated community in Nepal, a young woman searching on her phone for trustworthy information about pregnancy in Guatemala.

What do they all have in common? They are just a few of the millions of people who depend on Hesperian Health Guides for essential — and often lifesaving — health information.

lo-res Arabic womenNow available in 84 languages — 263 editions in all — more people than ever before have access to Hesperian’s vital health resources in print and online. This past year, an astonishing 4.7 million people, from every corner of the globe, accessed our free online HealthWiki, most of them using cell phones.

Providing so much knowledge to so many people takes tens of thousands of hours of hard work by our dedicated staff, partner organizations, and volunteers. But we can’t do it without you!

With your help, we can reach even more people. Your gift allows us to deliver practical, often lifesaving information to more people, in the languages they speak, in whatever form best suits their needs.

We’re very grateful for your help, and hope you will support us this year. We’ll make sure every dollar you donate counts.

In health,

Sarah Shannon
Executive Director
Hesperian Health Guides
